The Fighter’s Mindset is the foundation to build your safety and self-defense strategies upon. You must have the proper mindset to stay safe, aware, and avoid potential danger, and you must have the proper mindset to escape to safety or attack back if you are assaulted or attacked.

According to Stanford Strong, author of Strong On Defense Survival Rules to Protect You And Your Family From Crime, “The Fundamental principle of surviving violence is mental. Not physical, not gadgetry, but mental preparation, mind-setting.” Another top self-defense and combatives instructor, Kelly McCann, author of numerous articles, books, and DVDs on self-defense and personal protection, says, “Fighting is 90-percent mental and 10-percent technique. It’s all about having a complete, or holistic, fight mentality.”

Now, in How To Protect Yourself By Developing A Fighter’s Mindset, Hapkido, self-defense, and safety expert Alain Burrese outlines the most important ingredients to develop your fighter’s mindset. Learn how and why you must be aware, be decisive, be courageous, be willing, be vicious, be determined, be cool and believe in yourself. He even shares why being nice is a safety and self-defense strategy.

Filled with practical advice and quotations from many leading experts, this eBook guide to developing a fighter’s mindset will be the cornerstone to your safety and self-defense. Buy it. Read it. And learn from it to increase your safety and ability to defend yourself if ever attacked.

How To Protect Yourself By Developing A Fighter’s Mindset eBook Alain Burrese Reviews

This book is a must read for anyone who wants to survive and win a violent encounter. A person can train in the martial arts and still never know what to do when a person wants to do them serious bodily harm or even kill them. In this book Alain covers many attributes a person may cultivate to help them get home safe. I enjoyed this book and read it three times. As a military police officer I found this book useful and mentally prepares me to do what is necessary so that I can go home to my family.
The book is full of great ideas and examples upon which to build a curriculum for teaching self-defense. It would be helpful to those also who have limited knowledge and who might be considering taking the training.
How to develop a fighters mindset is a must own book for anyone serious about martial arts &/or self-defense! I own over 100 books on martial arts and self-defense and this one is at the top five of my list. The knowledge contained in this book is essential to comprehend and have burned in to your permanent memory. If you don't have the proper mindset your physical skills may not be of any use or may cause more problems than it solves, and this book tells you the proper mindset to have. This book also contains many powerful quotes from well known self-defense authors and military personnel and others. I highly recommend buying this book to anyone interested in martial arts &/or self-defense!
Without a doubt, the most neccesary component of any fight is having the proper mindset. Without it, you've pretty much lost the fight. Perhaps the greatest book written on this subject is "Principles of Personal Defense" by Lt Col John Dean "Jeff" Cooper. This is a good place to start, but by no means the only book you should have in your library.
Of all the books which have followed, one of the best is "How to Protect Yourself By Developing A Fighter's Mindset" by Alain Burrise. Burrise, a martial artist, lawyer, as well as a former bouncer, puts his own unique interpretation on many of the essential components of creating a proper mindset which compliments Cooper's work. One interesting addition which sets this book apart is the inclusion of a chapter entitled "Be Nice",or as I'd put it, "Be Polite".
Many true warriors understand that not every interaction has to become a comfrontation, and it's at the heart of this that Burrise differs from Cooper. Burrise gives you a real-life scenario in which he was able to talk down a rather rowdy Marine without getting into a testosterone battle. Staying cool, and being nice, will go a long way toward keeping you out of either jail, the hospital, or the morgue.
If you don't have a book on mind-set, this is definitely one to consider. If you have Cooper's book, this still belongs in your library.
Alain, has done a great job in covering the mindset needed to survive a real-life altercation. Too many people get caught up believing that simply knowing what to do technically is enough. Unfortunately without the correct mindset this just won't happen. The correct mindset will also help you prevent becoming targeted in the first place.
Any martial arts school in the world offers "self-defense" classes, and most of them overlook the most important aspects of the very subject they claim to be teaching. This book clearly and concisely offers the most important elements to personal safety. Everything about the mindset, from the awareness of what is happening (and with it the ability to avoid altogether those situations where violence may occur), to help in understanding the importance of being decisive, to being vicious when all else has failed, this book has so much to offer to both martial arts practitioners and those who are interested in being safe but don't have any interest in training in the martial arts. I enjoyed reading this one and give it my highest recommendation.
Alain has found, and answered, my emails, despite his incredibly hectic schedule and massive load of emails. I am/was in desperate need of help with a crazy ex who's always on my block. Alain made specific suggestions for my situation. He was one of the first to get me thinking of 'situational awareness' , for starters.

I can't say enough about him you can trust him with your life.
